Lesson Fees

About Me

Cloud Driving School - Thereafter referred to as 'CDS':

• All trainees must be in possession of a current provisional driving licence on commencement of training.

• Provided the client is licensed to drive, all fees include client cover whilst driving the training vehicle.

• Clients must be accompanied by, or under the direction of a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor or on a Driving Test with an approved DSA Examiner.

• You, the client, must promptly make known to your instructor any medical condition which may impair your ability to drive, whereupon your instructor will take the appropriate action to conform to his legal or moral obligations.

• Where a lesson is cancelled by the client, irrespective of the reason, 48 hours notice is required. Where cancellations are received giving less than 48 hours notice, the full lesson fee will remain payable.

• Where lessons have been pre-paid and the required cancellation notice is not given, the lesson fee will be forfeited unless the lesson can be mutually rearranged in the same week.

• Where short notice cancellations become routine “CDS” reserves the right to withdraw service without notice.

• Details of current tuition fees can be found on the Prices page of our website. Any cheques offered for payment that are subsequently refused by the bank will be subject to an admin charge equal to that charged me by the bank. See also “Driving Test” below.

Your driving lesson will be on a one to one basis. If you would like a parent or friend to come along on your lesson then that can be arranged. You will always receive the full lesson time you have paid for. Normally lessons will start and finish at the same point, however I will be happy to start and finish your lesson from different locations, providing these are agreed at least one week in advance, and that both are within the usual area of my work.

• Payment for a lesson is to be made at the beginning of each lesson.

• 'CDS' does not provide credit facilities under any circumstances.

• We accept payment by cash or via Faster Payments internet payment. Where payment is to be made online, it will need to be cleared into the account of Cloud Driving School one day prior to commencement of the lesson / course.

Account details available on request. Card payments not accepted at this time due to excessive processing costs.

• While every care will be taken to ensure clients receive training at the requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that “CDS” is not responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather, mechanical breakdown, illness or any other cause beyond our control.

• If, in the view of the Instructor, a pupil is unfit to carry out a lesson safely, due to self-induced circumstances e.g. alcohol or drugs, the lesson fee remains payable and the lesson will not be permitted to go ahead.

• All question papers, hand-outs, books, C.D. ROMs and relevant materials remain the property of “CDS”.

• If not returned on request a replacement fee will be charged.

•Driving courses / lessons may involve working breaks away from the tuition vehicle, to discuss progress, look at lesson plans etc.

• 'CDS' reserves the right to withhold use of the training vehicle, if in the Instructors opinion the client has not reached the required standard.

• Your DSA test fee is payable separately.

•'CDS' test day fees are payable in cash prior to the start of your test.

•'CDS' cannot be held responsible for Test Appointments being postponed or cancelled by the Driving Standards Agency for any reason.

• If your test is cancelled at short notice by the DSA, the test day fee is still payable to 'CDS'. In these circumstances, you must reclaim this from the DSA directly.

• Furthermore 'CDS' is not responsible for any failure of light bulbs etc. during the Practical Test.

All bulbs / lights etc. will be checked with the candidate prior to commencement of the test.

• 'CDS' cannot be held responsible in the event of mechanical breakdown prior to, or on the day of a
driving test. Such circumstances cannot be forseen, however, 'CDS' will make every effort to
obtain a replacement vehicle. If unable to do so, however, 'CDS' will refund the cost of the DVSA
Practical Test fee only. Where a client is advised of any mechanical failure, and there is sufficient time to cancel/reschedule the test and avoid any financial loss, but the client chooses not to do so, “CDS” will not refund the DVSA Practical Test Fee in these circumstances.

• 'CDS' will not accept responsibility for damage or marking to clothing as a result of coming into contact with areas of the vehicle subjected to road dirt, brake dust, mechanical oils or grease - including the Show Me, Tell Me section of the course or Practical Test.

This may involve lifting the bonnet for which disposable gloves are provided if required.

• 'CDS' accepts no liability for personal property that is left in any training vehicle or lost at any point during the course of a lesson.

•This website may include links to third party websites that are controlled and maintained by others. Any link to other websites is not an endorsement of those websites and 'CDS' is not responsible for the content or availability of any such sites.

• All clients should ensure that mobile phones are switched off, prior to entering the training vehicle. For the safety and comfort of all occupants in the training vehicle, no calls will be permitted while the vehicle is in motion.

• Special Offers are provided entirely at the discretion of 'CDS' and can be changed or withdrawn at any time and without prior notice.

• 'CDS' reserves the right to withdraw any special offer terms where tuition fees remain unpaid.

• Any special offer is to be used within 30 days of commencing your driving course.

• Discounted offer hours are to be taken in blocks of 2 hours. For example, an offer of first 4 hours at a reduced rate must be taken in 2 blocks of 2 hours, and within 30 days of commencing training.

• Any offer hours not used within 30 days will be lost and the standard published rate will then apply.

• To satisfy HMRC requirements, information regarding all payments to 'CDS' must be held for not less than 7 years, after which time such information, whether paper or electronic will be permanently destroyed.

• Whenever you are driving in the school vehicle, you will be under close supervision. However, 'CDS' cannot be held responsible for any infringement of the law. Any fines that are incurred will be the responsibility of the driver.
